RIM and their BlackBerry PlayBook tablet they have recently previewed at CES 2011 has reportedly gone into volume production. Quanta Computer, the company to which production was outsourced, is planning on providing first shipment by the end of first quarter of current year. By that period RIM forecasts sales numbers as big as one million units outselling Xoom by Motorola. This, of course, will require a lot of effort from BlackBerry, namely providing capable operating system, app store and developer tools – all of these activities have just been approved by Research In Motion officials at the recent BlackBerry Developer Conference held in Bali, Indonesia. In the meanwhile the recently leaked Dakota smartphone will take care of sales in its segment.BlackBerry PlayBook will run BlackBerry Tablet OS which is based on RIM’s in-house QNX Neutrino which is a Unix-like operating system and will have a lot in common with the OS 6.1. The tablet will first come out with Wi-Fi support, then 3G model with Push Mail notification and finally 4G LTE supporting models will come round only in Q2. PlayBook tablet will be tied up with Sprint Nextel while Moto’s Xoom is under Verizon.Gadget review,Gadget reviews and prices, free download software , and tech news
